Songwriter's Night Out:
an evening of music, encouragement and inspiration
Who is this event for?
This event is designed for songwriters who want to engage in a conversation with Christa (GMA Songwriter of Year 2006) and Nicole (George Strait, Diamond Rio, Big Daddy Weave) on topics related to songwriting, inspiration, lyrics, and anything else related to the creative process AND those who would like to connect and possibly collaborate with other songwriters.
If you are either a musical composer OR a lyricist, you are welcome to join us and perhaps meet a potential co-writer!
What will the evening look like?
We'll gather at a local Raleigh coffee house and begin with an informal group-led discussion. Following the discussion, each writer will be able to perform one of his/ehr own songs for the group at our own private mic event!
*Food/drink will be available for purchase.
What should you bring?
A small PA system will be provided. All you need to bring is your instrument and one of your original songs to perform (due to the nature of the event and our agreement with the venue we cannot permit covers to be performed.)
*Non-performing songwriters are welcome to come and not share, or to simply share a lyric/non-verbal musical composition.
After the event:
In addition to the events on September 9, each participant is invited to submit one original song recording (with lyric) to Christa and Nicole for written review. We commit to listen to each piece and deliver our feedback, encouragement and suggestions privately via email to each writer within 2 weeks of the event.
